You've got a nice little downward momentum going! Things seem to be finally evening out for you, yes? How goes the gym-ing?

Thanks for letting me know about Celldweller. What a great band! That is the new sound I've been trying to find. Something like Static-X and Rammstein. Nice! It's good to have great music to workout to.

I avoid the scale!! I think the scale is wrong most of the time anyway!! I rely more on how I feel and how my clothes fit to determine my progress.

Love the mental pic of you walking around like Ozzy after your weight lifting. Also loved the music on your site. What a fabulous job you have. And congrats on a half pound gone already!

Hi Tom!
I really enjoy listening to music too. I think there's at least a few good songs in every genre, though techno & R&B/pop (not rap) are my favorites, especially techno. I like the R&B females artistis b/c they're fun to sing along with.
Building muscle will definitely raise your metabolism! My doctor, who also has a degree in nutrition, told me that it's best to work out on a nearly empty stomach & then eat a high protein meal within one hour after you exercise, particularly protein if you're weight lifting. Your body needs the protein to help build back the muscle fibers more densely which is what makes your muscles stronger & bigger. They break down somewhat when you weightlift/ over load them, the building back process improves them. If you haven't heard - stretching your muscles (holding each stretch at least 15 seconds), releases the lactic acid that has built up in your muscle from working out. The lactic acid buildup in the muscle is what actually "makes" you sore, so stretching immediately following your total workout will help ease that.
I hope that's helpful!

Where's the weigh in, Tom? I've been waiting to see how you're doing, but I can wait to more! How are things going?
