Hi Carol...I hope you had a lovely Christmas celebration! I noticed you missed this weeks weigh-in, but not to worry...this will be your very first missed week and you can miss two and still participate in the challenge. I hope everything is going well for you? I’m sure I went a little overboard this holiday so I’m going to have to get my butt into gear in a big way to hopefully minimize the damage come the next weigh-in.
Good luck with your goals this week!

Thank you soooo much for the lovely Christmas card! It's beautiful! Come Christmas I’m going to show it to my family and they can click about with it too. You’ll have added some Christmas fun to our day! Thank you :)

How’s your week coming along? Christmas is approaching fast and we’re all going to have a hard time trying to stick with it that's for sure. I had a little slip up yesterday but I MADE myself slip up on something healthy...it was really hard! But I had a sneaky peak at my scale this morning and all is still looking good.

Hope your having a better week Carol...

Thanks for the cheers Carol! Would you believe that not so long ago my total loss was up around 60 lbs!! I so want to get back there again. That’s what going off track can do I guess...especially if we leave it for months!

A typical day for me meal wise consists of a fruit smoothie in the morning for breakfast...mango is my favorite! I add all sorts of things to it...skim milk, tahini, peanut butter, and yoghurt and protein powder too. I’d throw an egg in it but I’m allergic to them so protein powder replaces that...blend it all up and it really tastes good! I love my breakfasts!

Lunch is normally steamed chicken and salad...with a dollop of cottage cheese, gherkins or beetroot, lettuce, tomatoes, celery...whatever fresh stuff I’m feeling like at the time. Sometimes I’ll have tuna and veg with a little melted cheese on top. Sometimes I make up tuna balls and I also have a supply of mini meat balls in the freezer and I’ll have 3 or 4 of those with a salad.

I’m a meat and veg kinda girl so dinner is always along those lines. I do try to cut back on complex carbs...so bread, pasta and rice don’t make it on the plate most days. My biggest problem has always been sugar. That will stack the weight on me real fast so I don’t add it at all to anything and I try not to eat anything laden with it...and I drink plenty of water all day long too :)

That’s about the jist of what I eat...oh and plenty of nuts too for snacks! If not nuts, then I'll eat cottage cheese all by itself. What can I say...I LOVE the stuff :)

Hey Carol. Thanks for the pat on the back for the weight loss. I haven't been to the gym and fudged a little on my diet so there's probably gonna be a gain when I weigh on Thursday. :( No worries. I'm back on track and the weight will be gone in no time! :)

I understand about the exercise thing. It's great that you move a lot while your working. It beats sitting at a desk all day! What has happened it that your body is used to the same movements and that is why it doesn't contribute to your weight loss. You need to find moves that challange your body (deeper squats, reaching more, twisting in your seat when you do sit, etc...) in order for you to burn calories and build muscle. This is why going to the gym and working out on the eliptical helps so much. It's not routine. Be sure to change up your gym workouts as well. My trainer told me he has to keep mixing things up for me because when an exercise becomes easy I'm not burning enough calories to reach my goal! Good advise! I found that if I set 3 different series of exercises to workout at the gym with I can rotate them and still get a good challange to my body! Burn baby, burn! Good luck with your journey. Have a blessed week. -Patricia

HI Carol...
Yes, I am right next door to Anaheim..literaly. I am 2 blocks away in the neighboring town of Fullerton!
As you can see in my Disneyland picture.. I spend a lot of time there with my babies! It takes me 10 minutes to get there!
There are a lot of churches around here, that's for sure!

I hope you have a great weigh in this week. Mine isn't looking so great!

I’m so glad I popped in here on your profile...I had no idea you had replied to my comment! Its funny, but I think everyone who signs up to this site makes the mistake of replying to other people on their own page. I know I did and I know a lot of others have done also. This site is great in that when you leave comments on other peoples profiles the site will send that person an email notification letting them know, otherwise, nobody knows and you’ll only get a reply when they actually visit your page and only if they see it. Also, you can delete comments on your profile page from ‘Manage my profile’. Just scroll down towards the bottom of that page and you’ll see all the comments people have left you and a ‘Delete’ button beside each comment.

I know what you mean about needing the exercise...I have knee problems too and the elliptical is great with that. I had a treadmill but it fell apart on me so I went out and bought myself an elliptical. I missed my treadmill for a long time, but I’m glad I got the elliptical instead. I don’t suffer any knee pain at all when I use it which is great.

Your contribution amount came through without any problems at all. So your officially in!!
