Thanks for adding me to your friendship list. Would you like to join in a private challange and be each other's motivators? Let's see who can go the longest, we will exercise at least 30 minutes a day without breaking the chain. See who can build the longest chain! If you choose to increase -- no problem. Just earn your "X". See my journal "The Seinfieldian Chain". ~bobi~

Exercise was one of the hardest challenges I had to overcome. The only advice I can give you is to just do it. If you’re anything like me then that little argument you have with yourself about getting in the exercise can go on forever...and for me, the only way out of it was to pick pick myself up and start moving.
I actually try to fit as much in to my daily routine as I can...walking instead of taking the car or bus...that type of thing, and I’ve found that with structured exercise, its easier when you pick a time that coincides with something else that you do each day...for me, because my days can be so unpredictable, I like to get on the elliptical before breakfast and before going to bed. The key though is to not stop once you start and eventually you’ll be in a routine...then things get a lot easier :)

I just saw your weight chart on the October competition. Congrats on being ahead of me by .1 lbs! This is motivating me to work harder this week to get .1 lbs ahead of you next week! Kidding. Congrats!

Hi Robin. I just thought I’d stop by and see how you’re doing. I was reading your profile comment on feeling as good as you did when you were 20 and it got me thinking...no way do I want to feel like I did when I was 20! I had a weight problem from birth I think. Lol. After losing the weight I’ve lost I actually feel better now than I can ever remember...so 38 is going to be my bench mark...I want to feel like this forever :)
I just checked out your weight graph and good on you for sticking with this even though you’ve had a bumpy start. Most beginnings are never smooth, so don’t give up ok. Just keep thinking positive thoughts about what your doing and before you know it things will settle down and the scale will reward your efforts :)

Thanks for the words. I ended up logging my food on my gym's website. I have done this before, and have done really well with logging my food. It does keep a certian amount of awareness to it. The issue I had when I got to a certian point was transitioning out of it and maintiaining wieght control. I think I may need to think about different ways that may help when I get to that point again....ie......maybe logging every other day to 2 x's a week and then maybe once a week just to see how I'm doing.

Robin,
First, don't beat yourself up. You are here and keep going. I journal my food daily. It is harder to eat a bag of m&ms if I know I have to write it down. Another big issue for me is portion control. Based on the common diet stuff, a normal serving is typically two or three servings from a weight loss perspective. Good luck!
