About Me
I'm a 19 year old college student from New York. I'm not a terribly over weight, I just don't eat very healthy and exercise that much...which needs to change...drastically. I know enough about disease and health problems to know that they can be fixed/reduced with healthy diet and exercise. So, I'm determined to be healthy...though, I do lack motivation to stick stuff like this through.

Hi,
As one of my friends on this site I just want to thank you for helping me keep focused on my goal of losing weight. Today is an important day for me because I have finally reached my goal weight. The next step for me is Maintaining my Weight. I join in a maintenance competition on this site to help me do that. I hope to see you in this maintenance competition soon. Arthur

Hey girl. Love the pic. What a great perspective...keep us guessing, wishing for a peek. I am working at being steady, a bit all over the place this week so far but I am going to get it together tomorrow. How are things going for you? Good to meet you by the way. Hope you find this site as helpful as I have. It is amazing what a bit of understanding and accountability does for weight loss success.
So, I love to share funnies just to bring a smile;
PALM SUNDAY :
IT WAS PALM SUNDAY AND, BECAUSE OF A SORE THROAT, FIVE-YEAR-OLD JOHNNY STAYED HOME FROM CHURCH WITH A SITTER. WHEN THE FAMILY RETURNED HOME, THEY WERE CARRYING SEVERAL PALM BRANCHES. THE BOY ASKED WHAT THEY WERE FOR. "PEOPLE HELD THEM OVER JESUS' HEAD AS HE WALKED BY."
"WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT," THE BOY FUMED, "THE ONE SUNDAY I DON'T GO, HE SHOWS UP!"

Motivation!? You caught me on a bad week! I had none. But I'm back on track, so now I feel I can answer honestly. This website has been the sweetest deal for me, because I've never been open with anyone when I was trying to lose weight, so I never had any accountability. When I joined, I invited both friends and family to be a part of my process. Then I met a few awesome people here that helped, too. But this is the longest I've ever tried, and the most weight I've ever lost.
Also, I'm one of those "list people." I make a list for EVERYTHING! So I have a checklist that says I have to exercise a minimum of four times a week, and it keeps me pretty much on the straight and narrow. Sometimes I even do more than that.
And finally, we come to the point where I'm starting to feel pretty crappy about myself when I let go and eat like I used to. So avoiding pain is becoming a motivator. Yeah, that's pretty much it. Sorry for the dissertation!
How are you doing!?

Hi,
My motivation is through competition. If I am not in a competition then I gain the weight back. This is my fifth time losing weight. I got down to 219, then 202, then 225, and 232. Each time after I reached my goal weight I always gained it back. So competition to lose the weight and now I got in a maintenance competition to keep it off.

Hi! I just read through your profile, and you and I would be a good pair; I don't talk much at all, ha ha. How are you doing? Are you going to start a journal here?

I am happy to add you to my friends list. Please check my journal as I try to provide a weekly motivational quote or talk about some relative topic. I try to update it by Friday each week.
Good Luck, you can do this...

Hello! I haven't been as talkative the last 6 weeks as I used to be, but I still pop up every now & again. I wish you the best of luck!
My advice - don't get discouraged if the scale # doesn't move. Exercise will build muscle, so even if you lose fat, the scale # doesn't ALWAYS reflect it. If you know you're doing everything basically right & not seeing the # result, just judge by your jeans/bra (we all gain weight a little differently :}
Other thing, even if you don't lose weight for a good stretch, try thinking of the alternative - gaining. Even maintaining a 5 lb loss for six months until the super motivation bug strikes again will mean that you don't have to relose that same flippin 5 pounds. Trust me on this one!

Love the pic! Just wanted to let you know that I like just about everything on your fave books, but Patterson is really losing me lately. I've even got my honey listening to the Meyer books since he doesn't read.
Anyway, I just wanted to say best of luck on your battle! To me, 35 pounds doesn't sound like that much, so remember that you're always better off than somebody!
