Main Goal
OK- so my clothes that were fitting aren't now, and I want them back!
I'd like to lose enough weight to wear all the clothes I have right now! They're mostly size 12-14. If I lost 15 or so lbs, I'll be there.
I'd like to lose it fast (like by June), but that may not be realistic. I have a lot of stress, anxiety, fatigue, and school in my life right now, so I just can't workout like I used to...until summer. In fact, my epilepsy makes it so that my mind is utterly useless for abut 2 hours after a workout (endorphin buzz has a completely different meaning for me vs. other people), so I have to choose workout or study, and usually the latter wins out. Luckily, things may ease up for the summer and I'll be able to increase my workout days from 3 to 6 or so per week. The weather will help if I can find more people who like 6-8 mile hikes!
Bottom line goal is to fit comfortably into a size 12 by June! Right now, a size 14 is a tad uncomfortable.

About Me
I'm 38, single, and a veterinary student in Oregon. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I lost about 40 lbs a few years ago through diet and exercise, and intended to lose another 20. Alas, I've gained 20 of the 40 I lost BACK in the last couple of years. I'm sitting on my butt more, working out less than before, and have problems with chronic fatigue due to a medical condition. All things that work against me!
Fortunately, also due to said health conditions, I have given up eating certain foods that are implicated as bad doers in a couple medical conditions I have (epilepsy, gluten intolerance, and pre-diabetes). Avoiding these isn't fun, but is helping me maintain a very healthy diet! I'm still working on reducing the "boredom in eating" factor.
1) I've given up all gluten containing foods (anything with wheat, barley, spelt, rye, etc...)
2) I avoid casein containing foods (cows milk products including milk, cheese, ice cream, etc...)
3) I avoid soy products (especially processed ones, or soy-containing processed food), though tamari is still a weakness
4) I've given up all aspartame containing foods (and all other artificial sweeteners)...now, I just drink a lot of water!
5) I'm avoiding refined sugars- my sweet treats are mostly a square of chocolate in the evening, and maybe a 1/2 t of sugar on my AM oatmeal- I've even given up putting milk and sugar in my coffee (a huge step for me!)

I'm glad your pants are fitting better and you are getting exercise! Yah, good for you, I'm proud of you!! We need to take Slab to Takena Landing for a walk one day. Keith drove by there with him yesterday and he smelled it and started whining! Poor little guy! He needs a walk with his Mom and Aunt Lilly! My pants are fitting better too, I finally broke my last plateau and lost on pound and stayed that way for several days now. It's hard!! Thanks for the encouragement!
Annie
