About Me
My name is Kyle, I've been a chubby guy....well...for as long as i can remember. I just got married in 2007 and found out that I will soon be having a child, and i don't want to be unable to keep up with the baby. Too tell you the truth, if i do lose the weight and get down to around 200 pounds, i will be in better shape then i have ever been in my ENTIRE life. The farthest down I have ever gotten was 230 pounds and that was 5 years ago, and i got that by being on the Atkins diet.....and you all know what that leads to when you stop doing it. I just hope to god that i can have the confidence and perseverance to not stop, to keep going, to be the person I always wanted to be.

Great job. What is you new weight goal now that you have done better than your 200 goal. Now comes the most important part of weight loss and that is maintenance. You can do it...
I had a bad week so I posted the following to motivate myself.
"A man may fail many times, but he isn't a failure until he begins to blame somebody else." by John Burroughs.
My failure this week is my fault. I could blame it on stress, work, relatives, friends, the dog but the truth is that only I can choose to do the right things for weight loss success!

Currently I am on Optifast which includes doctor monitoring because of the rapid weight loss and a dietien to help develop long term food habits if you listen to them.
As for other diets. You name it I have tried a variation on it. Salads, adkins, low carb, 6 weeks, various thermogenic pills, Nutrilife (Quixtar), weigh watchers, Slimfast, Calorie counting, and probably others I have forgot.
What has worked best for me is to find a method which involves rapid weight loss first then do a maintenance plan. Where I have failed is the maintenance. Once I get there this time I will have to keep the weight off because I will have two new twin babies to chase which are due in late January or early February. My wife and the twins deserve better from me!

Thanks so much. i'll check it out. My issues is just that when i lose..i end up doing the whole take 1 step , get two steps back uhg! its like in 2 weeks i lose 4lbs yay! then in the third week i gained 2 lbs lol . Never ending cycle :)

well i used to be 240 then i stopped eating red meat because i felt bad for the animals lol i had no idea it would help me lose weight..so i came down like 20 lbs then i started taking zantrex-3 for a little while and stopped. i was 185..last year and then gained liek 15 lbs or so back from stress/family crap! i started converting everything..i learn about simple vs complex carbs ..i stopped drinking all soda and juices (aside from a little v8 or oj)drinking skim milk and i try to avoid add-ins liek sugar/butter/salad dressing. Alot of times my body wont respond to my efforts because i get lazy with exercise :( and there was this one weekend where i got to happy with some cookie dough hahahahahaha

Hey! I'm such a slacker! I've been up and down like .6 lbs over the last 3 weeks I swear. I'm gonna need to kick it up a few notches! You would think playing ball 5 games a week would be helping! hmmm.. maybe it's the beer?! How are things going with you? how soon is the baby here?
