About Me

My weight loss story goes back as far as i can remember, i was fat as a child, my mom was an alcoholic and a single mom of three kids. growing up we didnt have alot of money and when my mom went to the store we got the cheapest food like mac n cheese, ramen noodles and cereal. She worked alot, so we always kinda had to fend for ourseleves, i remember always eatng cereal for dinner or whatever we could cook ourselves. Mom bought us pizza alot too. Also my mom would never let us get down from the table until all our food was gone. To this day i find it very hard to leave a few bites on my plate and not finish it. My weight continued to go up the older i got. My freshman year in highschool i weighed 230lbs. I went on a diet and joined a gym. I lost 40 lbs going down to 190lbs. It felt good, but it quickly came back when i continued my old habits. Like most teens with a weight problem i tried to become anorexic but couldnt. i loved food to much. it was my drug of choice. i tried laxatives, diet pills, starvation and even excersing till i became sick. It was hopeless. I had no idea about eating healthy and nutrion. My oldest brother is morbidly obese like me and my younger brother is skinny and fit. All my life i have been trying to figure out why there are some people like my little brother and my husband who can eat whatever- whenever, even eat more than me and never gain a pound??? It has been very hard for me to accept that everyone's metabolism and they way they digest food is different. Now that i am older i have realized that i cant blame my weight problem on people like my mom. Sure she had alot to do with it growing up, but im an adult now. I have the choice to eat healthy and in moderation. I have also learned that through many failed diet attempts, i cant just change the way i eat for a while and call it a "diet". It has to be a lifetime change and commitment. Because sure i can loose the weight, but i will just gain it back!
I am Now 238lbs. The thinnest ive been is 190 and my highest weight 255. I keep telling myself i can do this. I have too, because im not happy in my life today because of my weight.

I so agree with you when you say food is your drug of choice! Someone that never struggled with their weight (like my husband) just doesn't get that. I've had ups and downs too...just focus on the losing and don't give up. I started a 3 Month Challenge (more for motivation than to compete)....it starts in 1 day. Looking for people to join! Have a good day!

That's OK. Just think about starting again fresh today. Focus on small steps a little at a time.

Hi Kalye! I am soooo sorry it has taken me so long to respond...things have been absolutely crazy around my house lately! I would love to meet you and get together to discuss goals, etc. Can you send me an e-mail at nijotojo@msn.com and I'll e-mail you back with my phone number, then we can get something set up! I couldn't figure out how to send an e-mail from here and don't really want to put my phone number on here. Can't wait to meet you and exchange ideas, it will be great!

Hi,

Congrats on your wedding too! I too was totally off track but decided this is the week to get going again. It is too easy to let it slide and then all of a sudden you are back to where you were or heavier. Keep in touch and have a good week.

HI,

Thank you for requesting me and welcome. I love UFC too! I need to get back on track as well. I have been slacking since the wedding. I just got married in July. I too have been heavier and lighter. It's always a struggle. I have been as high as 236lbs and right now I am 1721/2. I have gained back about 5 lbs since the wedding. My ideal would be 150lbs. I would like to be 160lb by Xmas. That was the weight I was when I met my husband.

I started a competition on here back in July. My LONG term goal is to lose about 100lbs. Short term I'm just hoping to lose enough so that I don't embarrass myself at Disneyworld during Christmas. LOL

Your story sounds alot like mine, only you were braver than I to share. Looks like your off to a good start, and with all the GREAT people here you'll have lots of support.

Hi Kaylejay4! Thanks for requesting my friendship on here! I see you are also from Nampa...cool! I have been wanting to get together with someone here for mutual motivation, maybe walking together, etc. If you are up for that, let me know! If not, that's fine too...we can be friends on here. I live near the sugar beet factory and am in school full-time (starting up again next week). It's very hard to stay on track when I'm in school, it seems I can't find time for anything. I think having someone to be accountable would help me a lot. Anyway, thanks again for the request, and let me know what you think about being "real" friends!
