I'm coming in a little late but this looked like a very supportive and interesting group. My name is Melissa and I had originally lost 25.5 pounds over the last couple years. Since Jan 2008 I've gained back 8 pounds and I can't seem to get back the same motivation I used to have. A competition at a health club originally started me on the path of weight loss. I'm hoping that this friendly competition will help me get back on track.

Hey teachernelsen, you lost some more! Way to go. Mowing sounds like a real workout. I am spending some time at the beach and did a 4 mile run today on the sand. I go down to the wet sand by the surf. It is so beautiful I can just get lost in the moment.
I have another joke for everyone;
Second Try*
Arriving home from work at my usual hour of 5 p.m., I discovered that it had not been one of my wife's better days. Nothing I said or did seemed to be right.
By 7 p.m. things had not changed, so I suggested I go outside, pretend I had just got home, and start all over again. My wife agreed.
I went outside, came back in and, with a big smile, announced, "Honey, I'm home!"
"And just where have you been?" she replied sharply "It's after seven o'clock!"
*Thanks to Pastor Tim for this joke!*

Walking is a good thing. Lawn mowing has been my biggest asset this week. Walking with a purpose helps me.

Walking is so healthy too! That is what my Doc recommended. I walk a lot with my little pug dog, Max. I also do elliptical and an aerobic CD.

For exercise right now i am just walking and doing some strength training at home. gyms here are way too expensive and we don't own any exercise equipment. i do have a couple of pilate videos that i could do, but i haven't broken them out yet. and i love to walk so it isn't boring to me yet.

Amazing teachernelsen! Big congrats! I instantly love anything that will take off the pounds. Have a fantastic weekend. Lose big, play hard, love much.

Yeah, varying the exercise was a necessity. Yesterday I played tennis for the first time. My arm is killing me but the results at the scale were fantastic!

Welcome back Nagdalie. 5 pounds is fantastic! You are right it is a lifestyle change which take much longer and not so easy. I too am working on that. What are you doing for exercise? I run, walk, do aerobic, and elliptical. Like to vary up my workouts so I am using different muscle groups and not getting bored.

Time for a new funny girls;
Larry LaPrise Died
With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the
moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very
important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.
Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote "The Hokie Pokey" died
peacefully at the age of 93.
The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into
the coffin.
They put his left leg in. That's when the trouble started...
