Main Goal

To lose enough weight so that I am able to buy clothes here in Italy, instead of taking trips to the US for that purpose.

Previous Diets

I've done the Weight Watchers thing, and it worked for me in the short term. I didn't like paying for meetings and weigh-ins, etc, though. The best way for me to lose weight, it is clear, is moderation in my eating habits, forbidding NOTHING and keeping a level head in all situations. Since living here in Italy, eating healthy is easier, but I live in the part of the country where pork is king, and the meals are heavier, in general.

Favorite Workouts

I walk. I walk every day. In fact, I walk between 10 - 14 miles per week. It's hard to be sure, though, because it's hard to measure my routes.

Things To Do Before I Die

Be a published author. Own a kitty. Make my house a home. Make my hubby truly happy.

Favorite Activities

Writing. Sleeping. Reading. (Can you guess why I have trouble losing weight?) When my back is in good shape, I like to walk in the hills or around town for fun. I really do.

Favorite Music

I listen to all sorts of music, but my favorite in general is rock and roll. However, I currently listen to some Italian artists, such as Samuele Bersani and Simone Cristicchi, and they are hardly standard "top 40" or "pop" music. I also adore Jarvis Cocker, Pulp, Pink Floyd and David Gilmour, Kate Bush, REM and to be sure, many, many others (far too many to name, here...).

Favorite Movies

Again, the list would just go on and on... The Harry Potter Series, Spiderman (especially 1 and 2), I Soliti Ignoti (a classic Italian comedy), Io Non Ho Paura (I'm Not Scared), the Shrek films, films based on John Irving novels, anything Monty Python, Roberto Benigni comedies, Pedro Almodovar films, and too, too many others...

Favorite TV Shows

The Riches (on FX), the Young Ones, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Queer as Folk (US version), and others.

Favorite Books

Anything by John Irving, Stephen King or Adriana Trigiani. Also "Io Non Ho Paura" by Niccolo Ammaniti, the Harry Potter books, and Photography books to inspire myself with.

Other Interests

Writing, Photography, and on occasion even now, Drawing. Sometimes I cook, too. :)

New Year, No Resolutions!

Well, here we are in 2008 - and I reckon most folks would expect to see my list of resolutions here. Sorry, but you're about to be disappointed, if... more

About Me

I'm an American living in Italy with my Italian husband - and I'm starting to feel the "pinch" (so to speak) of living somewhere it's difficult to find clothes in "plus" sizes. And so I'm here, in part as a motivational tool for myself, in part as a motivational tool for my friend, Byllie.

On my "Journal" see The Four Lessons Of Life. I receive these motivational thoughts occasionally that are pretty cool and worth sharing. It seems that can be applied to many things in life i.e. weight loss. Wishing you success on your WL goals! ~bobi~
