I have 4 boys and have been overweight since the first one was born over 9 years ago. I have spent most of my adult life being overweight and have been told by many close to me that I will always be this way. I have finally decided this is my time!! I'm here to bust some butt!! I am VERY motivated and not afraid of working hard.

i was reading your blog and i really think you are amazing! i was wondering how did you get away from counting calories?

i keep my lil journal with calories, fat, protein, carb and fiber and have specific goals to meet with each meal/day but if i dont track i will either maintain or gain.

also how do you eat 5 meals a day but still stay in the good calorie range? im struggling a little and would love any help getting a boost before the holidays come.

Hi KariLynn
My weekend so far so good. To day was my rest day.(Saturday) I will get up early(Sunday) and exercise at least 60 to 90 mins. Kept on target with my food today. Couple times today I did want to snack however I did not. I got to make sure I get some healthy stuff to put in my doula bag so I don't eat the wrong things. I will do that tommorow. Hope no babies come before I do that. I will also have my husband take my before pictures tommorow.
I have been cleaning up all day on and off.
I know you said don't drink milk. But I do drink soy milk and that is 50 cal for a 1/2 cup. I drink maybe a cup a day sometimes.

Thanks so much for answering me back. Because I need all the help that I can get. I did do 4 miles this morning totaling 90 minutes. As I am walking I am just beating up myself of how did I let myself get this big again. I really wanted to cry however I completed it and burned over 700 calories.
I have been a certified doula and childbirth educator for 5 years. This is my passion. I have three births comming up in October. My last birth was a home birth and it was very short. I got there at 7:30am and she had the baby at 8:20am. It is just so awsome to work with pregant woment. My website is uniquedoulaservices.com. I have not updated it for awhile but that will give you a little information about me. I am also a teen parent mentor also. I started gaining weight once I start on this journey. Sometime you can give so much to others that you dont give to yourself and I was running on empty and was trying to fill it up with food. Now I got to get balanced again. Always remember to take care of yourself.
Please I would love for you to keep up with me. I need all the help that I can get. This is my second week since I started. Monday will start the third week. I exercise six days a week. Cleaned out my diet pretty good. I should say great because I was eating the house down.(smile). My telephone number should be on my website also. I just need to do this.
I want to take some before pictures but I am so ashamed to ask my husband to do this. I have a face picture but not a body picture. I wish I could take it myself. Any ideas?
I am one of those people that step on the scale all the time and really frustrate myself---I need to stop doing that also. Like I think the weight is just going to disapear.

Thanks for your great blog. You have put a lot of work and thought in to it. You have truly inspired me. Like now it is late at night and I want to eat but as I am writing this I am thinking of your great weight lost.

Congratulations Kari!! I thought I might beat you but you kick butt! Thanks for being such an awesome motivator.

I went back to the boxing gym this week and I am so glad. Feels great to have my ass kicked at the gym 3 times a week! I am so sore but I know it will pay off just like it did when I first started. Next year at camp I will be a different person. Thanks for helping with my transformation! And congrats for making it so close to the end of your journey. YOu will be at your destination in no time ~ I just know it, You rock! Lori

Hi KariLynn,

As you may be aware, I started my own competition "Fit In The Fall" last week.
I've been trying to provide some kind of motivation/inspiration for all my teammates on a daily basis.
Hope you don't mind - today I encouraged them to check out your blog and read about your weight loss journey. Thought it might be as inspirational/motivational to them as it was to me! If this is a problem, let me know and I'll remove the post...
