Main Goal
UPDATE: 10/21/08 Look great at my daughter's wedding in 2010!
Get back to being fit so I can do all the things I loved before I gained weight.
To again go for long bike rides and hikes with my husband and kids.
Maybe not this year but next for sure to join my husband, daughter and friends in the "Bike New York-Five Boro Bike Tour" a 42 mile bikeathon through New York City instead of being left behind again.

About Me
UPDATE: 10/21/08 I know I haven't been checking in here but I have been maintaining my weightloss. And now I just got a Wii Fit and I really love it. I've been doing so many of the games and the jogging chasing after the little Mii Guide is really fun. It's great!
6/16/08 - Ok, now that my daughter has won the state championship in track I really feel like I'm letting myself and my family down being so overwieght. I've taught my girls great healthful values but I don't live by them myself. I don't eat all that many calories but I do not exercise as much as I should so my metabalisum is very low. I know why I'm overwieght and just eating ever decreasing amounts of food just isn't going to do it. And now is the time to change my activity level. So that's why I'm the wieght that I am and I need to change it, NOW! My new summer start has begun today!

I've been happily married for over 20yrs and am the mother of 3 daughters. I used to be very fit being an avid bicyclist and dancer (Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Polynesian).
As my girls got older the demands of motherhood kept me eating on the run, thinking more about their activities then my own. I ended up letting myself go to the tune of more than 75lbs of extra weight gained over 15yrs.
My daughters are very active and physically fit so we regularly talk about how important it is to live a healthy lifestyle. So I'm tired of feeling like a hypocrite for not living up to my own standards. I want to get my fitness back and finally start feeling like myself again.

hey there-
not sure if you been readin the post or not 3 wks. ago my hubby crashed his motorcycle and shattered his collar bone and had to have surgery. so that put a damper on life for a while.
and i really want to be thin really bad but my motoivation to stay on track and eat right just isn't there as much as it once was. really trying hard to over come that.
anyways taking the kids to play at a beach today, so i need to get a move on.

hey missy- i left a comment on the site page last wk. for you, i wasn't trying to blow you off, i can't explain how crazy my life can get w/ 6 kids, and on top of all that my hubby crashed his motorcycle on wed. night and shattered his collarbone. he's having surgery this morning.
i hope you're doing ok, though. i understand, the want just to give up, but i know and you know the want to get where we want to be is greater more often than not, so the goal is not to give in so much to temption, i know this for a fact i've yo-yoed so much over the past yr. last night i ended up having a big bowl of ice cream and now i need to know that it ends there and i don't sarry it on any farther. today is a new day a still have my goals and i want to meet them and i will!
keep aiming for the goal of being the fit mother of your fir girls!
we can kick this thing if we stick together and even though a little late i am here for you!

Hiya, Missy! I have a gazelle that I just discovered in the back of my closet. I don't have a video for it or anything, so can you tell me what's the best way to use it? I generally just start out kind of slow, then get going faster, then slow down, then go faster, then use just my arms because I'm tired, then go slow, then quit. It's the longest three minutes of my day!
Seriously, some advice would be appreciated!

thanks for adding me as a friend. Let me jump in and offer some words of encouragement as well. It looks like you're moving in the right direction! I see you like bike riding, as do i. i hope you can log some time doing fun things that burn calories.

Hi Missy,
I've long seen your picture! It seems like we struggle with the opposing sides of the healthy lifestyle equation. I've almost always exercised b/c I like how it makes me feel, but I SO struggle with eating. I do really good for long stretches, but I struggle with finding balance in eating healthy on a permanent scale. Good luck in the competitions! Talk to you later.
