Hey Monique.....That great! Stick to the gym. If all you do is become a healthier person you have done something. Usally the biproduct of living a healthy lifestyle and eating clean is weight loss. So just focus and being healthy and staying human. Moderation is the key!

Hey,
How are you? Thanks for the invite. Like everyone else weight loss has been a challenge for me since I started having children. I always start out really well and taper off to doing ok some of the time and finally I'm back to eating poorly & little to no exercise. I've been doing well since I've joined this site. I have motivation and support coming from all of the friends I have. My first day on the site I joined a competition. The last day was Thurs and I won. I'm really proud of myself. If you go to my journal you can see my before & after pic's. I found the stat tools on this site very helpful I think you should take the time to update them every week. It will help keep you focused if you can see your progress. I still have more weight to lose before I reach my goal so I'm looking for a new challenge to keep me going. Good luck & keep me posted.

Hey thanks for the invite. TO answer your question, it took alot of hard work to lose that four pounds the first four days. I gave up all fast food and began cooking all of my meals at home(mostly fruits and vegetables). I gave up soda and began drinking lots of green tea and water, and I began walking around the campus of my college four times a day(which is a total of six miles). I made sure that I counted the amount of calories that I was taking in and I also try to stay away from beef and pork as much as possble. I eat mostly just fish, turkey, and chicken for meat now along with losts of fruits and vegetables. It isn't easy because I am a pepsi and pizza addict, but if you want to be healthy you have to give up those empty caloried non-nutritious foods and excersize. I know you can do it, if I can do it you can, and I'm as lazy as they come. Try starting off by power walking a few miles. It's not as hard as it sounds. I can walk the six miles around my campus in about 1 1/2 hours. So, try starting off with three miles walking around your neighborhood or walking during your lunch break at work three times a week. Not only will it keep you from attaching the vending machine at lunch but it's an easy way to burn some extra calories. It also makes you feel more energized through the rest of your day. I'm praying for you girl. Catch you later.

Heyy! Yeah I realized that pilates isn't for everyone. I remember when my mom first saw me doing it and was like "ok now how are people who are full figured supposed to do that?" If you dont have some flexibility, it will be difficult. Something that i can recommend is just any type of activity that makes you break into a sweat. Whether its speed walking, skipping, swimming etc. If you do one of those activities, three times a week, you will see results after about a month. I am telling you, I didnt think that would work at all, but after weighing myself every week i realized that the pounds were coming off. I lost 9 pounds in 6 weeks and the working out was the least of my worries. What really got to me was the eating. I love sweets, and breads, and take out and EVERYTHING! lol I love food... but I knew if i really wanted to see results my eating habits had to change. I did eat a few fatty foods every now and then, but i never went too overboard. I also counted calories which doesnt work for everyone, but has been working for me. It is a lot of work but i realized this way, I would never over eat. Losing weight is not easy... Its hard work.. like anything we do in life, but I'm telling you when you actually start seeing results, you will have the motivation to reach your goal. A website that I can recommend to you in order for you to find out how much calories you should be eating a day is http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm.
Remember calorie counting isnt for everyone, this is something that just worked for me. Also you can get free meal plans on the web. Just go on google and type in 'healthy meal plans' and tons of them will pop up. Basically in order to lose weight it has to be something you REALLY want. You can't procrastinate. Losing weight has to be one of your top priorities. Make goals for yourself each month and try your best to reach them. Throw away all the treats you have in your cupboards. When you want a snack, eat a fruit salad or carrots and dip instead of that bag of chips. I know it will be hard, but its worth it. I find when I was sad, or angry, or stressed before, I would go and eat a piece of cake or when I was bored I would sit and eat chips. Now when I am any of those things I work out. It really keeps your mind off of it. There are just little things that you can do in order to make your lifestyle a heavy one. Try to eat more brown rice instead of white and whole wheat bread instead of white bread. Instead of getting a burger from mcdonalds, get a sandwich from subway. Subway now has daily deals so it is just as cheap as mcdonalds... I could go on for days about all the things you could do to be healthy and lose weight, but at the end of the day it all starts with you. If this is something you really want, you will go for it. I didnt really want it before thats why i just kept on gaining weight until I said "no... I am not going to be overweight, I am not going to struggle to go up the stairs, I want to look sexy in my clothes.. I want to look good and feel good". I put down the ice dream and picked up a dumbbell. That was the best decision I could have ever mad for myself. You can make the change too, I know deep down you really want this. Just find the time, workout, eat healthy, and feel great. You're going to have those days where you just feel like giving up, but just keep on dreaming of your goal and get back up and WORK! I hope this loonnggg message has helped you in some way. lol Message me if you need anything else:)

Thanks for the add! I have been trying to lose weight for about 6 months now and it wasn't until I registered to this site that I felt the motivation to actually get it off. Hopefully you will get the motivation that I got and start a fun and healthy lifestyle. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask:)

Thanks for adding me...I have been trying to lose weight FOREVER! I'm losing now but it's up and down. My advice: Work Out! It's that simple. I just went to visit a personal trainer on Friday and he gave me so much insight on how to improve my workout and get the most out of my time at the gym. It was so informative and it was FREE...It was really slow at first. I'm also doing Weight Watchers so that's been really helpful. Just stick with it. You will start losing even if it is slow BUT remember, it took a long time to gain it so it won't all go away over night...
