Main Goal

I don't want to hear again in reference to my being overweight, "but you're so pretty!" Like that makes a difference???

I also want to have a better chance at longevity with a high quality of life (activeness, vs. bed-bound or flesh rotting from uncontrolled Diabetes).

Goal1 =215, Goal 2=185, Goal 3=155

Hey Lisa, I read you've got an exam coming up! Make sure you have gum to chew, I hear it helps to do something rythmic while studying, plus you can't snack with gum in your mouth. I need to chew more of it, I'm having a hard time losing in the past 2 months or so. My body seems to be happy at around 180, so I think I'll start doing two work-outs a day to see if I can kick start the old weight loss train again. Hope the rest of the week goes well for you!

Hey, Lisey! Just want to see how things are going for you! Are you having a good summer? Didn't you just get back from seeing your honey again?!

HAPPY MONDAY!

We can do this!

20 pounds girl! Way to go! You really are on a roll. Roll, roll, roll girl. Yes Mercy Me. I just love that CD. I am the one that needs to imagine. I am just falling apart this week. I have done my 3 mile run every day but yesterday I didn't do any other workouts and ate terribly. I am trying and then I am not. My emotions are all over due to more family calls and just like your message said, I am trying anything to soothe. Sometimes life just sucks! I will keep trying but to help my mood I am sharing a funny.

Larry LaPrise Died

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the
moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very
important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote "The Hokie Pokey" died
peacefully at the age of 93.

The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into
the coffin.

They put his left leg in. That's when the trouble started...

9 but not all at once. 3 mile AM run, 3.5 mile elliptical and 3 mile WALK to the doggie park for my little squirt. I am getting back to the exercising, that part amazingly enough is not the hard part for me. Crazy, I know! I am hard core with the eating. If I am not highly proactive about my attitude I slip into bad thought patterns and spiral down from there. That is where I have been today but I have decided to pick myself up and get back into the right mindset. You look like you are doing an amazing job. Keep going. I have this song that is so inspiring on my IPod. I think it is called Imagine. I think that is what most of us on this site need to do. Just imagine what we could be and do. Well, anyway just imagine that you are your perfect weight with all of those nasty aches and pains gone and runnin' with the wind.

Hey, Lisey! I read your journal entry about the shakes and eating plan. How's it going? You've been going for a full week now, right? Starting to feel better? I can't honestly imagine doing such a thing, but you know what? We do what we have to do! I guess that six months ago, I couldn't imagine that a day would feel less full without a long walk, either. So I'll be hoping for your success!

Thanks for all your wonderful comments! The support on this site is enabling me to do what I never thought possible - stick to this whole weight loss game for long enough to make healthy changes! Last time I lost weight, I did it with just Slim Fast shakes and binging. Now I'm staying away from the Slim Fast because it seemed to PROMPT the binging! But being able to be honest about the struggles and triumphs we're all experiencing seems to be a great formula for extended success. (And it makes the failures seem less drastic, too!)

Way to go Lisey!!! That's great.

I'm actually up this week---bad weekend away where I just gave into to all the food that was in front of me.

Way to go Lisey. I read your post on the comp. page about staying away from the cake. That is really an accomplishment! It is soooo hard to stay away. Way to hang on to your dream. I can only imagine how wonderful you are going to feel when your body has healed and you can run in your new smaller body. You are fantastic girl! Way to take care of you! Have a magical Monday.

Any meal replacement product is a detox product because your replacing possibly bad foods with measured quantities of nutrients and minerals offered through whatever product you select, like Ultrameal or Optifast. As with my Optifast I assume that you also are supposed to drink lots of fluids, at least 48-64oz of water probably. This is what really cleans yor system out not necessarily the meal replacement product. The water flushes the toxins and the meals provide the minimum requirements needed for healthy weight loss. As long as we keep try using something right! Keep up the good work!

"The person with a fixed goal, a clear picture of his/her desire, or an ideal always before him/her, causes it, through repetition, to be buried deeply in his/her subconscious mind and is thus enabled, thanks to its generative and sustaining power, to realize his/her goal in a minimum of time and with a minimum of physical effort. Just pursue the thought unceasingly. Step by step you will achieve realization, for all your faculties and powers become directed to that end." by Claude M. Bristol

Down another 4#s but more importantly I have had multiple weeks of loss, although small it is positive. You find your goals and stay focused, you can do it!
