Main Goal

My main goal- I'm not really looking at the weight- as muscle is more condensed than fat anyways. I'm more looking at my body fat and measurements. I don't look it- but I'm a size 10 right now. My goal is to get back to a size 6. Get my muscle tone back. Eat Healthy. Have more energy. Be happier:). My biggest goal is to get back to a healthier, more active lifestyle before my metabolism slows down anymore and I become a person I always promised I wouldn't be. This isn't really to loose weight- as it is to get back to being healthy and for motivation to be honest with you and myself to get my life back.

Previous Diets

I never really focused on a diet before.... I tried to eat healthy, but never tried a full on diet. I love food- so this is tough- but worth it. I'm not going to do a diet now- I'm just going to watch what I eat- watch my caloric intake- and do my best with what I have.

Favorite Workouts

I love playing sports for a workout- tennis, soccer, volleyball. Haven't done much of that lately- but I would love to get on some kind of team again. I also do love weight lifting. LOVE the burning you get afterwards. I hate cardio- just running in place- etc. I tried to do workout cardio routines- but I get bored with those pretty quickly. If anyone has a great cardio idea- please give me some ideas :) I would love to swim everymorning- but finding a public pool downtown isn't easy

Things To Do Before I Die

HAHAHA- I actually have this list on a jump drive- been adding to it since I was 10. There's a lot- see the seven wonders of the world, learn to sail, bungie jump, have my own studio, etc, etc

Favorite Activities

Painting, Photography, anything artistic, anything outdoors, swimming, kayaking, watching movies with my honey, surrounding myself with all of the animals at pet store :), walking downtown at dusk, EATING GOOD FOOD ;) reading, organizing (yeah- that's one of those odd ones :))

Favorite Music

Long Long List. And very wide range- anything from ACDC to STP to John Denver to Kelly Clarkson- anything that makes me feel what the music is supposed to feel :)

Favorite Movies

Similar answer to music. My one exception to great movies that I love- is Ella Enchanted- I just love it- don't know why- it's not that good :) favorites are musicals (anything from hello dolly to chicago to Hedwig and the Angry Inch ;)) and Horror Movies (the worse it's made- the better it is :))

Favorite TV Shows

Lost, How I met your Mother, Seinfield, Family Guy, So you think you can Dance, Grey's Anatomy, Friends, Buffy, etc. etc

Favorite Books

Put it in front of me- I'll read it. Right now reading 'How I Paid for College- A Story of Theft, Sex, and Musical Theater' :).

About Me

First Off- I'm working on measurements and toning more than weight loss- so on my Journal page I will post my measurements every Sunday- please check it out and help me motivate or give support when needed. Thanks!! :)

Well lets see. I'm 24. I used to work out quite a bit- play group sports and walk everyday- worked in a restaurant where I was on my feet for 8+ hours a day- ate whatever I wanted and stayed skinny. Now- it's that age where my mot is slowing down, I work a sit down job most of the time, and I still ate junk. I'm not that overweight- but I've noticed small changes, like my face is fuller (not in a good way :)) and my muscle tone is leaving, my clothes are tighter, and I just don't feel as confident or good about myself anymore. Other than that:)- I'm an artist, working on getting back to school for my cadd degree. I'm so busy- I can't think right now- and I love it. The hardest part is finding time to workout- I am NOT a morning person- but I don't have time after work- because then I have to go work another job- or I'm so beat, I just want to vegg out on the couch :)

Thanks for the add! Wow girl, you have a busy life! And I thought I was hoppin' like a 1-armed paper hanger! LOL Looks like you're on the right track with what you want. The main thing is to realize that this is going to be a total lifestyle change. Food is the toughest for me because I live to eat! However, I've managed to eat some really great foods, endulge a little in some fatty treats, count my calories and still lose weight! It's all about ballance. I work out 2-3 times a week and try and make my favorite foods lower in fat and healthy for me and my family. I've adjusted pretty well but my hubby has other ideas! LOL I've adapted a "lifestyle change" since I started WLW mid October. I think I've done it long enough that it's become habit. 30 days to make or break it! Best of luck to you on your journey and kudos for starting young! At your age I was still devouring large supreme pizzas and a size 7! My eating habits caught up to me and it wasn't pretty!
On another subject, I see we have a lot in common! Reading, some tv shows, artistic expression, movies (musicals!), music. Awesome! Glad to have you as a friend on my page! Welcome. -Patricia

K,it appears you know where you want to be and how to get there. You just need to take some time for yourself. It's so easy to invest time in everything else that's going on in your life and forget yourself.

And mornings are best time of the day, it's cool, you get to see the sun rise, and hear the birds sing. So put your sneakers next to your bed, then when the alarm goes off, get your tale out of bed (and don't dare think about hitting that snooze button) and just do it! :)

Send an email to me at trice_alford@hotmail.com with your email address and I'll send you an invite to the competition. You pay online so that's taken care of. If you know your stats like body weight and body fat then input those under your stats section. If you don't know your body fat then send me your measurements for neck size, waist, hips, and your height and weight and I'll send you the body fat percentage back.
